Visitation 6:00-8:00pm, Friday, July 2, at Westside Funeral Home, 204 7th Street, West, Palmetto, FL 34221. Interment Skyway Memorial Gardens, Palmetto, FL. Born in Ellenton, she worked in the Manatee County School District for 28 years. She was a faithful member of the House of God Church, serving faithful in a variety of positions and ministries. She was preceded in death by her father, Elder Walter Spencer. She is survived by her husband, Rev. John Mapps, Sr., of Bradenton, FL; three daughters: Jacqueline Mapps, West Palm Beach, Beverly Harris (Charlie) of Melbourne, Cassandra Lang (Gary) of Bradenton; one son, Rev. John Lynn Mapps, Jr. (Patronia), of Bradenton; four siblings: Willie James Spencer of NY, Dallas Spencer, Greensboro NC, Walter Spencer, Bradenton, Rev. Marian Humphrey, Bradenton, FL; 17 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
